Let us inform you of the continuing preparations for the UP Alumni Reunion on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Restoration of Palacký University Olomouc. We appreciate all the positive feedback that you have given us regarding this project.

The tentative programme is listed below. Negotiations are underway every day in order to ensure further activities as well as benefits for you, our alumni who will take part in the event.

The UP Alumni Reunion is conceived as an informal meeting with people and places that you have known during your studies. On Friday, September 9, 2016, every UP faculty will open its gates and rooms for you, your relatives, and friends. In the evening, restaurants, bars, and clubs will be reserved for UP alumni.

We aim to address as many UP alumni as possible and to create ideal conditions for such a reunion, accompanied with interesting cultural events. We would like to lay the foundation for the development of a sound, mutually beneficial community enriched by regular meetings.

We sincerely appreciate the attention you have given to Palacký University.

UP Alumni Reunion Tentative Programme

On Friday, please accept our invitation to the All-University Party, which will take place at 15 minut club and S-klub, starting at 8 pm. If you wish to attend the accompanying programme of the Alumni Reunion at your department/faculty (from 5 pm), please e-mail us at absolvent@upol.cz and we will send you a detailed programme.

Admission to all events on the programme is free for every registered Palacký University alumnus with an Alumni Card distributed at the registration spots.

REGIONAL MUSEUM IN OLOMOUC – Olomouc University / Universitas Olomucensis Exhibition
The permanent exhibition at the Regional Museum in Olomouc is focused on the history and present of the second oldest university in the Czech Republic. It shows more than fifty interesting items related to the history of Palacký University. There are for example university Matrices, medals, university theses, surgical instruments, publications of eminent professors, copy of the original Rector’s sceptre from the 16th century and the glass harmonica. On display is also a large canvas entitled Celebrating the founding of the Jesuit College in Olomouc, dating from 1690, many photographs and scientific texts. Palacký University Publishing House, commemorating its 25th anniversary, will also be represented in the vestibule.

OLOMOUC ARCHIDOCESAN MUSEUM and MUSEUM OF ARTS IN OLOMOUC
Admission to both museums will be free to all Palacký University alumni with a valid Alumni Card or with a card issued at the registration spot, during the weekend of September 9 – September 11, 2016. On display are permanent and temporary exhibitions, for example photographs of Jindřich Štreit.

PALACKÝ UNIVERSITY ARTS CENTRE (KONVIKT) - MEZIČAS Exhibition
Extensive exhibition will present artworks of the students and graduates of the Department of Art Education of the UP Faculty of Education. The vernissage will be on Friday, September 9 at 5 pm in the Palacký University Arts Centre (3 Univerzitní Street). The exhibition will be open until November 28, 2016.
The Department of the Art Education will provide guided tours and other accompanying programme. (For more information see www.kvv.upol.cz).
The exhibition is held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the renewal of the Olomouc University. It is held under the auspices of the Palacký University Olomouc and the Statutory City of Olomouc, and is supported by the specific research grant (Tvůrčí činnost studentů Katedry výtvarné výchovy PdF UP Olomouc, IGA_PdF_2016_023).

EUROPEAN HERRITAGE DAYS

The European Heritage Days in Olomouc offer a rich cultural programme, with a unique opportunity to visit sights, institutions and buildings that are usually closed to public during the year. The visitors of the sights can also enjoy guided tours and lectures. We also prepare special illumination of interesting buildings and monuments. Olomouc citizens and visitors of the city can look forward to concerts, theatre performances, StreetArt Festival and many other activities.
